Voyage optimization for wind-assisted ships means that the vessel seeks the wind conditions that will ensure the largest fuel savings. The way we do this is by adopting an innovative three-dimensional optimization where the course and the speed of the vessel are both optimized so that the ship will benefit from the most favorable wind speeds and directions.

For each voyage, hundreds of simulations are carried out considering multiple weekly departures during a certain period of years and reliable weather data are used to determine the best route for the ship while ETA is kept the same as business as usual.
